Welcome to the SIMCenter
The Simulation Innovation and Modeling Center (SIMCenter) is an interdisciplinary research center for the virtual simulation and modeling of product performance and manufacturing processes in the College of Engineering. We research and apply somputer-aided engineering techniques to the design and manufacturing of advanced product and production concepts.
Located in Smith Laboratory, the SIMCenter combines expertise from several College of Engineering departments--mechanical and aerospace, electrical, welding, chemical and biomolecular, materials science, computer science, and Integrated Systems--and a partnership with Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC).
Center for Automotive Research (CAR) and the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME), we span the range of activities needed to take vehicles through the entire product lifecycle. SIMCenter’s focus is on the application computer aided-engineering tools, and where needed, the development of new computer-aided engineering tools. Effective use of these tools is absolutely vital to the regional, state, and national economies in order to produce best-in-class products at competitive costs.SIMCenter is one of three industry-facing Centers in the Ohio State University College of Engineering tackling the most challenging problems in land transportation. Along with the
Simply put, SIMCenter's mission is to advance the state of computer-aided engineering in the transportation industry.
