May 3, 2016 – On Friday, April 22, students, employees, and members of the SIMCenter leadership team celebrated Earth Day by volunteering at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The SIMCenter team spent a few hours of their Friday afternoon getting their hands dirty by assisting in garden preparations for the upcoming season. They participated in various activities, including perennial cutbacks, leaf clean ups, bed edging, mulching, pruning and planting.

While the team enjoyed their afternoon of volunteering, the SIMCenter recognizes that Earth Day should be celebrated not just one day, but every day. In an effort to be more environmentally conscious, the center has implemented sustainable practices throughout its operations. Recently, the SIMCenter was awarded the Green Buckeye Certification, an Ohio State program that recognizes offices with achievements in sustainability.
