Porter

Once an aspiring comic book artist, Landon was bound to find himself in a writing-related role. After brief stints in chemical engineering and economics, he returned to his roots. He’s an avid reader with a love for boardgames, so it’s no surprise that he elected to pursue an English major and philosophy minor. Growing up with an English teacher as a mom, he developed a keen interest in how multi-faceted the major is. Landon notes the practicality of his choice with the multitude of opportunities spanning across industries. Moreover, the major’s abstract aesthetic element fascinates him and encourages him to better appreciate the language.

While at OSU, Landon made the most of his experience by engaging with the English Undergraduate Organization, Mosaic Magazine and The Journal, OSU’s literary magazine. Analyzing and participating in the selection process for for The Journal for the prestigious Non/Fiction Prize was a key highlightin his college career.

After graduation, Landon will aim to land a technical writing job in the greater Columbus area in addition to continuing his personal writing. As he looks back on his time at OSU, he has fond memories of founding the OSU’s first curling club and is looking forward to graduating summa cum laude. To younger students, he says, “change is always happening, even if you don’t notice it.”
