Senthil Nathan sits on the SIMCenter's External Advisory Board, the group of volunteers from various industries that meets bi-annually to help guide SIMCenter initiatives. As the Director of Engineering, CAE & Applied Technology at GE Appliances, he specializes in simulation-driven product development, involving structural dynamics, computer-aided engineering (CAE) model correlation, and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). These techniques reduce the time and material resources required for the development of new products, delivering the best product to the consumer.

The intricacies of simulation first interested him while attending College of Engineering-Guindy, Anna University. There, he completed a master's thesis project centered around simulating metal casting processes through CAE. A champion for SIMCenter, he constantly looks for opportunities to elevate the center from connecting researchers with GEA on projects to speaking as a panelist at our student “Jobs and Simulation & Modeling” night. Furthermore, he invests in EAB by speaking about how GEA’s simulation group operates, diving into current and future GEA trends.

Paired with industry ties, his 20 years of experience in engineering & technical leadership lend themselves to guiding SIMCenter on new initiatives and research specializations. As virtual product development becomes a must-have for competitive companies, Senthil’s contribution to the SIMCenter will only become more valuable.
