In the most recent pool of over 300 companies to receive funding through the State of Ohio TechCred program, Honda R&D Americas was approved to accept funds for SIMCenter’s Online Foundations in Finite Element Principles, the first course in the Certification in Practice of Finite Element Principles program. The three-course program is specifically designed for working engineers to enhance their knowledge of computer-aided engineering.

TechCred, a program that assists Ohio employers in training their workforce, provides companies with reimbursement of up to $2000 for enrolling their employees in approved science, technology, engineering, and math training courses. SIMCenter’s Foundations in Finite Element Principles course was added to the list of preapproved courses with Honda R&D’s application. “Employers can request any of the other three program courses in their application,” said Amber Pasternak, SIMCenter Program Manager. While Honda R&D already received approval as part of the June application pool, the opportunity is again open to companies who apply before Aug. 31.

“In the current economic situation, many companies have had to scale back their workforce development budgets. TechCred can help Ohio companies stretch their budgets by reimbursing employers a portion of the cost of our courses,” Pasternak said. Two of the four courses, Foundations in Finite Element Principles and Finite Element and Finite Difference Principles in Heat Conduction are currently open for registration until Aug. 23.

Ohio companies can apply now through Aug. 31 for TechCred reimbursement, so apply soon to get your employees started on training and certification.
