The Ohio State University SIMCenter will come together with SMS_ThinkTank in a new partnership to offer an online Systems Modeling and Simulation SMS continuing education program.

The first program offering, titled SMS Basics for Managers, will run Dec. 7 – 18, 2020. The new program is the extended online version of a course typically offered live by SMS_ThinkTank and will be delivered using a mix of asynchronous course delivery with synchronous meetings throughout the program’s two-week period.

“SIMCenter’s role is to develop these courses for online delivery,” said Emily Nutwell, Research Specialist at the SIMCenter. “These courses offer a business perspective of simulation and modeling and align well with SIMCenter course offerings, which address technical knowledge and understanding of simulation and modeling topics.”

“SMS_ThinkTank is pleased to partner with the Ohio State University SIMCenter to offer a course on the business considerations associated with the digital transformation of an organization,” said Edward Ladzinski, CEO and Co-Founder of SMS_ThinkTank. “This will provide the much-needed education for the planning and execution of digital transformation initiatives within and across organizations.”

“The transformation needs and challenges in three critical areas of organization, process, and technology are covered. There is an emphasis on ensuring the continuous growth of engineering maturity and the strategies to ensure the successful completion of each stage in the Systems Modeling and Simulation transformation journey to achieve sustainable innovation,” said Frank Popielas, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of SMS_ThinkTank.

The goal of SIMCenter’s partnership with SMS_ThinkTank, a global leader known for its comprehensive education and training in systems modeling and simulation, will be to aid business and engineering professionals tasked with establishing model-based approaches in support of the larger digital

transformation initiatives of their organization in understanding a common model for systems engineering and product data and help companies maintain a competitive position within their industries; the ability to lead/participate in the task force appointed to drive the digital transformation initiative within an organization; and better prepare the budgetary considerations planning for a digital transformation journey.
