Mei Zhuang is a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and serves on the steering board of the OSU Center for Simulation Innovation and Modeling (SIMCenter). Professor Zhuang’s research experience and expertise are in applications of computational aeroacoustics (CAA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in automotive and aerospace industries. Her current work also includes studies of aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance of vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) and aerial drones. Professor Zhuang is an associate fellow of The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Simulation Capabilities:

CFD and CAA simulation for flow and aerodynamic noise prediction.  The team uses both commercial (Star-CCM+ and Ansys Fluent) and in-house CFD/CAA software. The capabilities also include both near- and far-field noise prediction and integrated physical impedance boundary conditions.
